Punchcards - Machine Knitting Workshop
Once you have established yourself with the basics of the knitting machine, let’s get more creative with this taster session all about the punchcards. Punch-cards allow you to incorporate pattern, texture and structure into your knits relatively easily.
We will cover floating Jacquard (Fair Isle), tuck and slip stitches alongside weave knit allowing you to delve into the world of punch-cards and create multiple swatches in a huge variety of different patterns and colours.
This is the first step to elevate your machine knitting game after the basics.
I have both Silver Reed and Brother machines available for you to use, however you are more than welcome to bring your own. All yarn for this workshop will be provided.
You will already need to know the basics of casting-on and working the machine for this workshop as it is not a beginners basics workshop.
Workshops will run on site from 6pm - 9pm so the perfect new hobby for that weekday evening. Please also note, the Useless Studio Assistant may join, so there may be a dog in the workshop. Other dogs are welcome if you wish to bring yours, please just let me know in advance.
Parking is available on site.
Returning customers for workshops will receive 10% off their next workshop.
Terms and Conditions
This is an in studio only workshop, and cannot be conducted virtually.
If you need to cancel, please do so up to a week (5 working days) in advance of the booked date. Less than 5 working days = 50% returned. Less than 24 hours cancellation notice is non refundable.
Dates and times are final. Please ensure you can commit to the day before booking.
Please ensure you arrive on time. Anyone who arrives late may miss the demonstrations of the techniques.
